Brandon takes photographs for his blog Humans of New York in which he depicts people living and tells their story in a quick write-up under the picture.  He finds people in the streets of New York and interviews them and take their pictures.  He does not just take pictures of beautiful, perfect people or scenery, but rather people with a complex history.    HONY focuses on those who are usually overlooked by society, but he finds their stories the most interesting and endearing.  Millions of people on Tumblr and Facebook see these fascinating, unique portraits and see another side of New York and humanity.  They see stories of people who preserved through the Syrian Civil War and people who are trying to survive day-to-day.
Brandon's most recent collection of photos delves into the life's of refugees and shows their resilience as they face adversity.  In his older collections, he tells the story of ordinary people living in New York with his portraits and captions under the picture.  He uses an imploring tone where he wants to open the eyes to the plight of every unspoken person.  He wants to give a voice to everyone who does not have on.  He tells the story of those who are normally silenced, and he wants his viewers to have a more complete image of the world.
